Aerospace Flight Heritage – ACS / Apogee Bipropellant Thrusters
The MON / Hydrazine LEROS 1, 1b and 1c engines have provided reliable,
high-performance apogee propulsion for a large number of geostationary
satellites. Additionally, LEROS engines have been used on interplanetary
exploration/research missions including the spectacular Near Earth
Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) mission [LEROS 1], Mars Global Surveyor
[LEROS 1b] and Mars ODYSSEY [LEROS 1b]. A LEROS 1b is currently making the course correction maneuvers for the Mercury MESSENGER mission. In
all cases, LEROS engine performance has been flawless. The LEROS 2b adds MMH capability to the apogee engine family, and has successfully demonstrated flight performance.
Propellant Manufacturing and Ground Support Equipment
AMPAC-ISP’s Westcott facility can supply a variety of propellants, including,
but not limited to, hydrazine and hydrazine-based products. We also have
expertise in compatibility studies and the handling of a wide range of other
propellants (e.g. based on red fuming nitric acid and mixed amine fuels).
We also offer wide-ranging expertise and experience in aerospace
ground support.
ACS / Apogee Bipropellant Thrusters
We manufacture the flight-qualified LEROS
® product line of bipropellant apogee and stationkeeping thrusters, as well as MONARC
® hydrazine monopropellant engines and engine components.
